Description

Thank you for your interest in volunteering for the 2014 iCanBike Camp!

Camp is scheduled for the week of June 2, 2014, at Worthington Kilbourne High School. Volunteers must be age 16 or over.

What's bike camp? View and share our volunteer video - at www.tinyurl.com/lttwcbusvolunteers.

By volunteering with the iCanBike camp you offer your time to change a child’s life as they accomplish something they may have never believed they could achieve – independent bike riding! Volunteer ‘spotters’ are matched with a specific child to provide physical support and emotional encouragement for the weeklong camp. Volunteers must be physically fit and able to follow instructions to maximize the camper’s opportunity for success. Volunteers must be able to exercise patience and understanding.

Volunteers sign up for at least one session for the entire week. Sessions are 75 minutes long, beginning at 8:15 a.m. By volunteering for the whole week, you provide an opportunity for your camper to develop trust in you, and trust in the iCanBike process. Consistent volunteers provide stability and predictability to the camper for this challenging week and allows you to experience a camper's success from beginning to end.

Camp is sponsored by the Down Syndrome Association of Central Ohio, with support from Nationwide Children’s Hospital and The Country Club at Muirfield Village Foundation. Register now to be a part of this exciting event!
